The Rural Health Unit of General MacArthur successfully conducted a Blood Donation Drive in coordination with the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and the Eastern Samar Provincial Hospital (ESPH) Blood Collecting Team.

With the generosity of 34 volunteer blood donors, this life-saving activity became a success, helping ensure that safe blood will be available for patients in need.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all our blood donors for their selfless act of kindness, as well as to the Provincial Health Office, the ESPH Blood Collecting Team, the Local Government Unit of General MacArthur, our healthcare workers, volunteers, and everyone who contributed to the success of this meaningful initiative.

Your single donation has the power to save multiple lives. Together, we continue to build a healthier and more compassionate community—one blood donation at a time.

💚 Strengthening Families Through Knowledge and Care 👩‍👧‍👦

The Rural Health Unit of General MacArthur continues its commitment to promoting healthier communities through Continuous Health Education on Maternal and Child Health.

Through this activity, participants were provided with essential information on maternal care, proper nutrition, safe pregnancy, newborn care, breastfeeding, immunization, and the importance of regular health check-ups. These learning sessions aim to empower parents and caregivers with the knowledge and skills needed to ensure the health and well-being of mothers and children.

Together, let us continue to build healthier families and a stronger community—one informed household at a time. 💚

Last June 18, 2026, the Rural Health Unit of General MacArthur actively participated in the Serbisyo Caravan held in Brgy. Vigan, bringing essential health services and health promotion activities closer to the community.

Through the collaborative efforts of various government offices and partner agencies, residents were provided access to basic health services, consultations, health education, and other programs aimed at improving the overall well-being of individuals and families.

The activity reflects the continuing commitment of the RHU and the Local Government Unit of General MacArthur to ensure that quality healthcare and public services remain accessible, especially to communities at the grassroots level.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the officials and residents of Brgy. Vigan, LGU, partner agencies and everyone who contributed to the success of this meaningful activity.

Last June 8, 2026, the Rural Health Unit of General MacArthur had the opportunity to participate in the Opening Block Activity of Our Lady of Fatima Academy, providing students with valuable information on health, safety, and well-being.

The activity featured educational discussions on Psychosocial Support and Well-being – Mental Health Awareness, presented by Dr. Maila E. Navidad-Bobon, and Teenage Pregnancy Prevention, discussed by Krista Mae E. Abantao. Students also received important reminders on Road Safety from the General MacArthur Municipal Police Station through PSSg Ramil B. Mejica, Asst. Invest PNCO, under the direct supervision of PCPT Julian A. Aguirre, ACOP, promoting responsible road use and safety awareness among the youth.

Through these sessions, learners were empowered with knowledge and life skills that support positive decision-making, mental wellness, personal responsibility, and overall health.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the administration, faculty, and students of Our Lady of Fatima Academy for the warm welcome and active participation. We likewise express our appreciation to the General MacArthur Municipal Police Station for their valuable contribution in promoting road safety and responsible citizenship among the students.

Last June 15, 2026, the Rural Health Unit – General MacArthur successfully launched the PuroKalusugan Program in Poblacion 06, marking another step towards bringing quality health services and health promotion activities closer to the community.

The activity highlighted the importance of community participation in maintaining a healthy environment, preventing diseases, and promoting the overall well-being of every family. Through PuroKalusugan, residents are encouraged to take an active role in building healthier and more resilient communities.

Participants also gained valuable insights on Road Safety through an informative session conducted by the General MacArthur Municipal Police Station, delivered by PSSg Ramil B. Mejica, Asst. Invest PNCO, under the direct supervision of PCPT Julian A. Aguirre, ACOP. The discussion emphasized responsible road use, traffic awareness, and accident prevention to help keep the community safe.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the residents and officials of Poblacion 06, as well as the LGU of General MacArthur, the General MacArthur Municipal Police Station, and the Department of Health (DOH) for their continued support in advancing community health initiatives.

Last June 8–12, 2026, the RURAL HEALTH UNIT - GENERAL MACARTHUR successfully conducted the Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) Basic Training Course at the 3rd Floor Public Market Building, Brgy. 05, General MacArthur, Eastern Samar.

The five-day training strengthened the knowledge and skills of Barangay Nutrition Scholars in delivering nutrition services, promoting healthy practices, conducting growth monitoring, and supporting community-based nutrition programs in their respective barangays.

We extend our sincere appreciation to 𝗠𝗔'𝗔𝗠 𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗬𝗡 𝗕. 𝗖𝗥𝗢𝗦𝗔, 𝗥𝗡𝗗 from National Nutrition Council (NNC), for serving as the resource speaker and for sharing her expertise and valuable insights that contributed to the success of the training.

We also express our heartfelt gratitude to the Local Government Unit of General MacArthur, Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Program (PMNP), Department of Health (DOH), facilitators, and all participants for their commitment and active participation throughout the five-day activity.
