In addition to her national appointment, Dr. Usman will continue to serve as a member of the ๐๐จ๐š๐ซ๐ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ƒ๐ข๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐๐€๐๐’๐‡๐ˆ ๐Œ๐ข๐ง๐๐š๐ง๐š๐จ ๐‚๐ก๐š๐ฉ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ for the current fiscal year. For more than two decades, PAPSHI has been instrumental in strengthening school health practice in the Philippines through the development of guidelines, standards, and recommendations that help shape institutional and government health policies. In observance of World TB Day, the MSU GSC Medical Services Department encourages everyone to stay informed about TB and take steps to protect themselves and others.

Watch out for common TB symptoms:
โœ” Persistent cough
โœ” Coughing up blood or phlegm
โœ” Chest pain
โœ” Fever and night sweats
โœ” Weight loss and fatigue

TB spreads through the air when a person with active TB coughs, sneezes, or speaks. If you experience symptoms, seek medical consultation immediately.

Please be informed that in compliance with University Memorandum No. 316-GNC Series of 2026 dated March 6, 2026, on the implementation guidelines for the Four-Day Compressed Work Schedule, the Medical Services Department will observe the following adjusted schedule effective immediately:

Compressed Work: All administrative offices, including job order/contract of service employees, shall work Mondays through Thursdays from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Skeletal Work Force: Friday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM to ensure continuity of public service and accommodation of urgent transactions.

In support of World Glaucoma Week, the MSU GSC Medical Services Department encourages everyone to learn more about glaucoma and the importance of regular eye examinations.

๐†๐ฅ๐š๐ฎ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐š is a group of eye diseases that damage the optic nerve, which can lead to vision loss and blindness if left untreated. Often called the โ€œsilent thief of sight,โ€ glaucoma may develop without noticeable symptoms in its early stages.

Risk factors include:
โ€ข Advanced age
โ€ข Family history of glaucoma
โ€ข Diabetes and hypertension
โ€ข Long-term use of steroid medications

Remember, early detection through regular eye check-ups is key to preventing permanent vision loss.
