In times of uncertainty, we are reminded that the strongest foundations are not made of concrete, but of compassion.
The recent earthquake left many of our own St. Elizabeth Hospital family facing unimaginable challenges. Thirty-seven of our employees lost the safety and comfort of their homes, with some now beginning the difficult journey of rebuilding and relocating.
Yet amid the devastation, one truth remains: lives matter more than anything else.
As shared by our Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Antonio Veneracion, “We are a family at St. Elizabeth Hospital, and we should look out for our own people. We are sincerely grateful that no lives were lost and no one was seriously harmed. Buildings can be rebuilt, homes can be repaired, but lives lost can never be brought back.”
Today, those words resonate more deeply than ever.
Through the collective generosity of our sister hospitals, leaders, and colleagues across the Metro Pacific Health network, a very significant amount was raised to support our displaced employees. Financial assistance ranging from ₱10,000 to ₱50,000 was distributed based on the severity of the damage to their homes.
