GSDH celebrates National Infection Prevention and Control Week
With this year’s theme “Building Responsive IPC Systems: Strengthening Monitoring, Collaboration, and Resilience,” GSDH continuously promotes the culture of patient safety by developing among the Staff the habits of implementing consistent infection prevention and control standards.
As part of the advocacy, Staff refreshed and enhanced their knowledge and skills in various infection prevention and control measures through fun and interactive activities. During the week celebration, hand hygiene jingles were also heard in the hospital during key hours of the day as a friendly reminder to do hand hygiene.
The country celebrates the 2nd week of July as the National Infection Prevention and Control Week in accordance to Proclamation No. 971, series 2020. It highlights the shared responsibility of healthcare professionals and institutions in upholding these standards to maintain a safe and quality healthcare environment.
