One of our students at Life Ready, Miggy Gonzales, will be having his solo exhibit this Sunday at Sambalikha Art Gallery in Botolan. Along with his richly textured paintings, he will also sell his handmade candles, made with 100% soy wax.

These candles are poured with love, crafted with care and made to glow differently. ♥️

Featuring a vibrant collection of impasto paintings inspired by nature, changing seasons, oceans, forests, and abstract forms, the exhibition highlights Miggy’s growing artistic voice through richly textured surfaces and expressive color explorations.✨
While created through guided painting sessions, many of the themes, compositions, and creative choices were intuitively decided by Miggy himself—making each work a sincere reflection of his imagination and way of seeing the world. 🧡

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend and fellow director, Nicar.

Nicar was not only part of Life Ready, she was one of the people who helped build it into what it is today, especially in Davao. Life Ready Davao was always close to her heart. While all the directors supported the vision, she was the one on the ground who oversaw the construction, built the physical space, implemented the systems, and worked tirelessly to turn that vision into reality. A lot of what stands in Davao today exists because of her dedication, persistence, and care.

Beyond the clinic, Nicar had a deep desire to help others, especially fellow IBD patients. Even during her difficult days, she continued thinking about ways to create programs and support systems for people going through similar struggles. One of her dreams was to establish a foundation that could serve and support the IBD community. As a clinic, we hope to continue that vision and see it through in the future in her honor.

More than her accomplishments, Nicar touched many lives through her warmth, generosity, and sincerity. She cared deeply about people and had a gift for bringing others together. Whether through her work, her friendships, or her simple presence, she left an impact that many of us will carry with us for a long time.

We mourn her loss deeply, and at the same time, we remain grateful that we had the chance to know her, work with her, and build alongside her.

Thank you, Nicar, for everything you gave to Life Ready and to the people around you. You will always be part of what this clinic is and what it continues to become.
