DOH-TRC Region 02 Celebrates Recovery Milestones Through Aftercare and Outpatient Program Graduation Ceremony
In recognition of the remarkable recovery milestones achieved by its clients, the Department of Health – Treatment and Rehabilitation Center Region 02 (DOH-TRC Region 02) successfully held its Aftercare and Outpatient Program Graduation Ceremony on August 7, 2026, at the TRC Gymnasium.
The ceremony honored clients who successfully completed their respective treatment programs and demonstrated sustained recovery and successful reintegration into their communities. A total of 64 graduates were recognized, comprising 17 graduates from the Outpatient Program and 47 graduates from the Aftercare Program, all of whom were joined by their family members in celebrating this significant achievement.
The event highlighted the graduates' remarkable determination, resilience, and discipline in overcoming substance dependence and embracing healthy, productive, and drug-free lives. Their inspiring journeys served as a testament to the transformative impact of comprehensive treatment, continuous recovery support, and strong family involvement.
The graduation ceremony likewise underscored the enduring partnership between DOH-TRC Region 02 and its partner agencies in promoting sustainable recovery and community reintegration. Distinguished guests who delivered inspirational messages included Gil Cesario Castro, Regional Director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) RO2; Dr. Guia Comillas,Local Health Support Division Chief of the Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development (CVCHD); Franco G. Lopez, Assistant Regional Director for Operations of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) RO2; and Ma. Cristina C. Vibar, Regional Officer-in-Charge of the Parole and Probation Administration (PPA) RO2. Through their unwavering commitment and support, these partner agencies continue to strengthen the Center's mission of empowering clients to achieve lasting recovery and meaningful reintegration into society.
Adding inspiration to the celebration, several graduates shared their personal stories of hope, resilience, and transformation, reflecting on the challenges they overcame throughout their recovery journey. Selected family members also recounted their own experiences, emphasizing the vital role of love, understanding, and steadfast support in helping their loved ones rebuild their lives.
More than a graduation ceremony, the event symbolizes a renewed beginning for every graduate and reaffirms DOH-TRC Region 02's commitment to delivering responsive, holistic, and client-centered rehabilitation services for Persons with Substance Use Disorder (PSUDs). It stands as a powerful reminder that recovery is possible through collaboration, perseverance, and the collective support of families, communities, and partner institutions.
