Ang karahasan sa paaralan ay hindi lamang usapin ng disiplina. Ito ay usapin ng kaligtasan, mental health, at kapakanan ng bawat mag-aaral.

Mahalagang makinig, umunawa, at kumilos. Sa pagtutulungan ng paaralan, pamilya, at komunidad, makakalikha tayo ng isang kapaligirang ligtas, mahinahon, at mapagkalinga para sa ating mga kabataan.

Ngayong araw, ang ating clinical psychologist na si Kathreen Custodio-Joson, PhD ay sumailalim sa isang radio interview upang magbigay-kaalaman tungkol sa school violence, mental health, at kung paano ito maaaring maiwasan. Tinalakay nya ang mas malalim na pagtingin sa iba't ibang factors na maaaring nakaapekto sa isang indibidwal.

Binigyang-diin din ang kahalagahan ng pakikinig, maagang pagkilala sa seryosong concerns, mental health support, tamang referral, ligtas na reporting mechanisms, at pagtutulungan ng pamilya, paaralan, at komunidad.

Idiniin ni Dr. Joson na nagsisimula ang school safetysa pakikinig at pagkilos bago pa lumala ang problema.
