🦠🧼 Learning Through Friendly Competition: Infection Prevention and Control Week Quiz Bee 2026

In celebration of National Infection Prevention and Control Week 2026, with the theme "Building Responsive IPC Systems: Strengthening Monitoring, Collaboration, and Resilience," the Infection Control Committee, in collaboration with the Health Education Promotion Office (HEPO), successfully conducted an Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Quiz Bee for the personnel of San Antonio City of Ilagan Hospital.

Recognizing that Infection Prevention and Control is a shared responsibility of everyone in the healthcare setting, participants were grouped into Clinical and Non-Clinical categories, highlighting that every department plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and healthy hospital environment. From frontline healthcare workers to support and administrative personnel, each member contributes to breaking the chain of infection and ensuring quality patient care.

The Quiz Bee featured four exciting rounds that tested participants' knowledge of essential IPC practices—from hand hygiene and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to waste segregation, standard precautions, environmental cleaning, workplace safety, and other key infection prevention measures.

More than just a competition, the activity served as an engaging learning experience that refreshed participants' knowledge, promoted teamwork across different departments, and reinforced the importance of collaboration in strengthening our hospital's Infection Prevention and Control Program. By continuously enhancing awareness and competency among all personnel, we build a more responsive, resilient, and safer healthcare environment for our patients, staff, and community.

Filled with enthusiasm, teamwork, and friendly competition, the event demonstrated that learning can be both meaningful and enjoyable. It also reflected the hospital's continuing commitment to fostering a culture of patient safety, quality healthcare, and excellence through shared accountability and continuous improvement.

Together, let us continue to strengthen our Infection Prevention and Control practices because safe healthcare begins with informed, committed, and united healthcare workers. 🩺✨
