Ginakabig nga very alarming ang stroke cases sa Western Visayas, sandig sa specialist halin sa Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC).

Sunu kay Iloilo Provincial Health Office (IPHO) head Dr. Maria Socorro Colmenares - Quiñon nga daku ang increase sang stroke cases sadtong 2025 kon ikumparar sadtong 2024, sandig man sa data ni Dr. Ryndell Alava sang WVMC.

Last 2024, ara lamang sa 808 cases ang na-record sang WVMCpero sang 2025, nagtimbuok sa 2,326 cases. Sining April 2026 lamang, nakalista na sila sang 157 cases ukon four to five stroke cases daily.

Posible nga rason sang pagsaka sang stroke cases amo nga ang patients nga naga-suffer sang hypertension ukon high blood ang wala naga-inum sang maintenance ukon naga-inum man pero indi regular or daily.

Ang high blood isa ka traidor nga klasi sang balatian kag kon kaisa wala sang may nabatyagan nga sintomas pero gulpi lamang gina-atake sang stroke ukon sang myocardial infarction (MI).

Para ma-determine kung gina-atake sang stroke, tandaan ang “FAST” nga amo ang: Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, and Time to go to the hospital immediately.

Kung nakitaan sang sining sintomas, indi na maghulat, indi pag-massage ang patient ukon indi pagpa-inumon sang herbal. Kundi dal-on dayun sa pinakamalapit nga hospital ang pasyente./PN
