The DRSTMH team successfully conducted a medical consultation thru Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) and Guaranteed Access for Outpatient Medication (GAMOT) program of Philhealth for the employees of Aklan State University (ASU) Banga Campus and paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Jeffrey A.Clarin, President of ASU Banga, Aklan.

Today's readings remind us that God remains faithful to His promises. Through the prophet Jeremiah, He assures His people that He will gather them, restore them, and fill their hearts with joy. In the Gospel, the Canaanite woman demonstrates unwavering faith and humble trust in Jesus. Despite every obstacle, she perseveres because she believes in His mercy.

As we face our own trials and uncertainties, may we follow her example by remaining steadfast in prayer and trusting in God's perfect timing. Even when the way forward seems unclear, the Lord never ceases to guide, strengthen, and care for those who place their hope in Him.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Rev. Fr. Justin Vernon Zolina for presiding over today's Eucharistic Celebration and for sharing God's Word, inspiring us to continue serving with faith, compassion, and dedication.

With heartfelt sympathy, we extend our deepest condolences on the passing of 𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐗 𝐑. 𝐓𝐄𝐉𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐒, 𝙉𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚 𝙄 at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Mediatrix faithfully served this hospital for over 9 years. She will be remembered as a caring, compassionate, dedicated, and dependable nurse at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) whose kindness, professionalism and gentle spirit brought comfort to countless patients and inspired her colleagues.

Her commitment to serving others and her unwavering compassion will remain a lasting legacy in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

Today’s Flag Ceremony was facilitated by the Medical records. We extend our sincere appreciation to the team for their effort and dedication in leading this meaningful activity.

During the program, Dr. Cornelio Cuachon, Chief of Hospital II, shared that the month of August highlights several important national observances:

• Family Planning Month
• Sight saving month
• National Lung month
• National Adolescent Immunization month
• National Breastfeeding awareness month National Hospital Week

These celebrations remind us of our collective responsibility in promoting health, safety, and community welfare.

Dr. Cuachon also mentioned about the Measles Rubella Supplemental Activity this coming August for children aged 6-59 mos old and expresses his support to PHO Aklan for the activity.

Dr Cuachon extended his congratulations to Jeresse Jeah R. Ricaforte for winning 3rd place in the recent IPC quiz bowl during the Regional Infection Prevention and Control consultation 2026 held at Goldberry Lite Hotel, Iloilo City.

With profound sadness, we extend our deepest condolences on the passing of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗩. 𝗧𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗼, who faithfully served as a Technical Advisor since year 2016.

Dr. Tolentino dedicated her career to advancing public health with unwavering commitment, compassion, and excellence. She will be remembered for her professionalism, wisdom, integrity, and tireless dedication to improving healthcare services. Her kindness, humility, and genuine concern for the welfare of patients and communities touched countless lives, while her guidance and expertise inspired colleagues and strengthened the health system.

August is a month of celebration and meaningful health initiatives at Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital. The hospital celebrates Hospital Week on August 24–28, 2026, highlighted by friendly ball games and a Food Bazaar that foster camaraderie among hospital personnel. The month also marks the launch of the Province-wide Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MRSIA) starting August 8, while Lung Month and Sight Saving Month serve as reminders to promote respiratory health and prevent avoidable blindness through awareness and preventive care.
