The 52nd Nutrition Month Celebration with the theme, “Nutrition at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan,” 🍃🌴🌱 was truly a meaningful and successful event that highlighted the importance of proper nutrition and environmental stewardship in building healthier communities.

This celebration would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our Municipal Mayor Hon. Sonia A. Arnado. Thank you, Ma’am, for your continued commitment and support to all nutrition-related programs and activities in our municipality.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Sir Alleson Karl Daroy – Municipal Administrator, Adelino F. Rico – Municipal Agriculturist, Dr. Arthur Dale Y. Laguerta – Municipal Health Officer, Ken Aljon C. Natividad – Municipal Nutritionist

The municipal health office of Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte conducted Maternal, Infant & Young Child Nutrition training last June 15-17, 2026. This training is to strengthen the knowledge and skills of primary health workers to promote optimal nutrition from pregnancy through a child's second birth.

SYMPOSIUM ON HEALTH AND NUTRITION: NURTURING COMMUNITIES FOR BETTER WELL-BEING

On May 12, 2026, our team arrived at Barangay Tingintingin, and on May 13, 2026 at Barangay Baraason, eager to engage with residents for our scheduled health and nutrition symposium. The venue was filled with mothers, expectant women, and community leaders, all gathered to learn essential practices that shape the health health of families and children. We began by discussing the First 1000 Days, emphasizing that the period from conception up to a child's second birthday is the most critical window for growth and development, where proper nutrition yields lifelong benefits. Next, we tackled WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), explaining how clean water, proper waste disposal, and good personal hygiene prevent disease and support overall health. We then highlighted Exclusive Breastfeeding, sharing that feeding only breastmilk for the first six months provides complete nutrition and strong immunity. Following this, we discussed Complementary Feeding, guiding participants on when and how to introduce safe, nutritious, and age-appropriate foods alongside breastmilk after six months. We closed the session with Safe Motherhood, stressing the importance of regular prenatal check-ups, skilled care during childbirth, and postnatal support to ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and child. The community actively asked questions, shared experiences, and committed to applying what they learned.

LGU Kauswagan has just finished 5 days Basic Life Support (BLS) and Standard First Aid (SFA) training that prepares BHERTS, MDRRMO, MHO staff including the use of very inportant to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest, choking, and injuries.

Apil niini Ang pag gamit sa Automated External Defibrillator (AED) usa ka madaladala, makaluwas sa kinabuhi nga himan nga gigamit sa pagtambal sa kalit nga pag-Cardiac Arrest pinaagi sa pag analyze sa heart rhythm ug paghatud sa usa ka electrical shock kung gikinahanglan aron mabalik ang normal nga function.
