The Municipality of Kawayan officially launched the celebration of Diabetes Awareness Week 2026 through a Community Sunset Zumba held at the Municipal Port, Balite, Kawayan, Biliran.
This activity also marks the beginning of the LGU’s Sunset Zumba, an initiative that promotes a healthy and active lifestyle among Kawayanons as part of the DOH Health Promotion Program's Move More, Eat Right campaign.

Regular physical activity and healthy eating are important steps in preventing diabetes and other noncommunicable diseases. Kaya tara na at gumalaw nang mas madalas, kumain nang mas tama, at piliin ang mas malusog na pamumuhay!

The Kawayan Primary Care Facility’s Wellness Caravan continues as we cater to our Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) during the PWD Congress today.

As part of our commitment to bringing health services closer to the community, essential health services were provided including vital signs monitoring, body measurements, non-communicable disease (NCD) risk assessment, health education, vision screening, random blood sugar, urinalysis and other preventive health interventions aimed at promoting overall wellness and healthy living.

This activity highlights the importance of ensuring that quality and accessible healthcare reaches every sector of the community, especially our PWDs, who continue to inspire us with their resilience, strength, and active participation in community development.

Together, let us continue to build a healthier, more inclusive, and empowered Kawayan where no one is left behind.

Another successful day of bringing health services closer to our workforce through the Wellness Caravan! 💙

Today, the Kawayan Primary Care Facility provided wellness services to our Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel. Through health assessments, risk screening, and health promotion activities, we continue to support the health and well-being of those who tirelessly serve and protect our community.

Thank you to our PNP and BFP personnel for your active participation and dedication to public service. Together, we are building a healthier and stronger Kawayan.
