I am very pleased with the outcome of our patient following fiberoptic bronchoscopy (FOB). She initially presented with a pulmonary mass in the right upper lobe on chest CT scan. During the procedure, the right upper lobe was noted to be edematous, with a narrowed opening and purulent secretions. Biopsy and bronchoalveolar lavage were performed, with Biopsy result negative for malignancy. 😊
She was subsequently discharged on antibiotics, and at the two-week follow-up, there was noted resolution of the consolidation.
