Today, the Laoag City Federation of Persons with Disabilities is deeply honored to receive a Merit Certificate from the Philippine Red Cross – Ilocos Norte during the Blood Services Recognition Ceremony in celebration of National Blood Donors Month 2026.

This award is more than a certificate—it is a reminder that disability is never a barrier to serving humanity. As a federation, we remain committed to promoting compassion, volunteerism, and community service. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, has the power to save lives and inspire others.

PROJECT ARUGA | A Promise of Care and Hope for Every Child with Disability

Today, we celebrate another meaningful milestone as our children with disabilities aged 18 years old and below received their Project ARUGA Disability Support Allowance.

Project ARUGA is more than financial assistance. It is a program that empowers parents and caregivers by strengthening their knowledge, enhancing their ability to provide proper care, and connecting families to the services and support their children need.

This assistance is a great help in meeting the basic needs of our young PWD beneficiaries, including food, medicines, therapy, education, and other daily essentials. More importantly, it reminds every family that they are valued, supported, and never alone in their journey.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the DSWD, the Laoag City Government, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), and everyone who continues to make this program possible. Your commitment brings hope, dignity, and brighter opportunities to children with disabilities and their families.

Together, let us continue to build an inclusive community where every child is cared for, empowered, and given the chance to reach their full potential.

Isa ang Laoag City sa Ilocos Norte sa Pilot Implementation Sites ng DSWD Project Aruga. Ayon kay Laoag City Social Welfare and Development Officer na si Ginang Perlita B. Cabello, malaking tulong sa kanilang nasasakupang komunidad ang pagsasagawa ng Project Orientation for Parents and Caregivers at Distribution of Disability Support Allowance ng Project Aruga dahil bukod sa pinansyal na tulong para sa mga benepisyaryo, mas napalalim aniya ang kaalaman ng mga magulang at tagapag-alaga ng mga batang may kapansanan sa tamang pag-aaruga dahil sa referral system ng proyekto.

Magpapatuloy pa ang nasabing aktibidad sa iba pang Pilot Implementation Sites ng Project Aruga sa mga susunod na araw. Ilagan City, Isabela; Lubao, Pampanga; Biñan City, Laguna; Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; San Jose de Buenavista, Antique; Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.

🎉 A CELEBRATION OF UNITY, SERVICE, AND EMPOWERMENT! 🎉

Our Federation Anniversary Celebration last July 18 was truly a memorable and meaningful occasion—filled with fun, laughter, surprises, and unforgettable moments! 🧡💙

One of the major highlights of the celebration was the recognition and awarding of our dedicated Barangay PWD Presidents. 🏆👏

This recognition was a tribute to their hard work, commitment, and continuous service to our fellow Persons with Disabilities in their respective barangays. Their dedication and leadership serve as an inspiration and a strong foundation of our federation. ❤️

We also proudly presented a special Appreciation Award to our Federation President, Mr. Richard G. Ramos Jr., in recognition of his exemplary leadership, unwavering dedication, and tireless efforts in promoting the welfare, rights, and empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. His commitment and hard work have truly made a meaningful difference in our federation. 👏🏆

We are deeply honored by the presence and support of our distinguished guests and partners. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our Honorable City Mayor James Bryan Q. Alcid, who graced the celebration, together with City Councilor Justine Chua. Your presence and continued support mean so much to the PWD community. 🙏

We also acknowledge the presence of the Liga ng mga Barangay President, Hon. Rbee Ablan, represented during the celebration by Hon. Manny Morales, Punong Barangay of Barangay 1, and the Liga ng mga Barangay Vice President, Hon. Sammy Aquino. Thank you for your support and for standing with the PWD community. 🤝
