Don't fall into the death trap
The universal drug plight is an intricate affair that influences millions of people globally. The masses of population who use narcotics withstand the stigma and prejudice, which can stimulate trauma to their physical, emotional, and mental health, and hinder them from ingressing the support they need.
Illegal drugs' usage is an enticement for transient and vibrant lifestyle, concealed the possible ill-disposed treatment from the society and health indisposition and disability of the victim.
According to HelpGuide.org, "While anyone can develop problems from using drugs, vulnerability to substance, addiction differs from person to person. While you genes, mental health, family, and social environment all play a role, risk factors that increase your vulnerability include: Family History of Addiction; Abuse, Neglect, or other traumatic experiences; Mental Disorders such as Anxiety and Depression; and, Method of Administration such as smoking or injecting a drug may increase its addictive potential."
With this, the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, or World Drug Day, is marked on 26th of June every year to reinforce the established movement and collaboration in effectuating a world free of drug abuse. The goal of this year’s campaign is to raise cognizance about the significance of treating people who use drugs with respect and empathy; providing evidence-based, voluntary services for all; offering alternatives to punishment; prioritizing prevention; and leading with compassion. The campaign also aims to combat stigma and discrimination against people who use drugs by promoting language and attitudes that are respectful and non-judgmental.
Let's be kind and compassionate to those people who needed it most.
