TRUE OR FALSE? Poor posture is the main cause of scoliosis.

ANSWER REVEAL: FALSE! ❎

Poor posture is not the main cause of scoliosis.
While slouching or sitting unevenly can make the body look imbalanced, it does not actually cause the spine to curve like scoliosis does.

The most common type, called Idiopathic Scoliosis, has no single known cause and often develops during growth spurts in adolescence. That’s why early screening and proper evaluation are so important, scoliosis is much more than “just bad posture.” 👀

If you notice uneven shoulders, hips, or changes in posture, it’s always best to have it checked by a professional. Stop guessing and get yourself evaluated at Scoliosis Basics because... The sooner detected, the better corrected. 😉

Alright… time for the big reveal!
Did you lock in your final answer? 😄

The correct answer is… A. Growth spurts during adolescence! 👏✨

During rapid growth, the spine can change quickly too, which is why scoliosis curves may progress more during the teen years. That’s why regular monitoring and early care are so important.

Early detection can make a big difference when it comes to scoliosis. 🦴 Spotting changes early allows for better monitoring, timely treatment, and more options for care as the body grows. At Scoliosis Basics, we offer INITIAL EVALUATIONS to help you better understand your spine health and the next best steps for care and support.
