The Land Transportation Office (LTO), under the leadership of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon, has stepped up the information drive to encourage more clients to avail of the online platform in the renewal of driver’s license.

This is in line with the instruction of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. for a digital shift of government transactions to ensure fast and comfortable delivery of service to the Filipino people.

LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said he already instructed all Regional Directors to amplify the traditional and social media campaigns to promote online driver’s license renewal.

“With this digital platform, our kababayan, especially the busy workers, will save more time, energy and even their hard-earned money if they avail of this because they no longer have to go to LTO offices for this particular transaction,” said Asec Mendoza.

“And another benefit of this technology is we are able to reduce human intervention, which means that this is an effective anti-fixer and anti-corruption platform,” he stressed.

The online driver’s license renewal is now full blown across the country.

In fact, Asec Mendoza said they already showcased the online driver’s license renewal to Taiwan last year and in Osaka, Japan recently. Both global launches serviced thousands of OFWs.

More global launches are expected under the administration of President Marcos as the LTO intends to promote the online platform to OFWs in the Middle East, Europe and North America.

“Your LTO has gone a long way in ensuring fast and comfortable services to all our clients. Mula sa driver’s license hanggang vehicle registration, we are always finding ways to make sure na hindi mahihirapan ang ating mga kliyente,” said Asec Mendoza.

The online driver’s license renewal, which was mentiones by President Marcos in his SONA, can also be acccessed through the eGov app. #

Hundreds of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Japan took advantage of the opportunity to renew their driver’s license online during the national government’s Serbisyo Caravan in Osaka that includes the service of the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

The online driver’s license renewal for OFWs in Japan on Sunday, July 20, was in line with the directive of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. to the Deparment of Transportation (DOTr), under the leadership of Secretary Vince Dizon, for a shift of all government services of the department to digital platforms.

Acting Assistant Secretary and LTO Chief, Atty. Greg G. Pua, Jr., who led the online driver’s license renewal in Osaka, expressed gratitude to the OFWs who supported the national government’s program to deliver its services to them.

The LTO first launched the online driver’s license renewal in Taiwan last year wherein hundreds of OFWs were also served.

One of the LTO clients in Japan expressed gratitude to the LTO and the national government for coming up with the online platform for driver’s license renewal.

“The LTO here is very helpful, the process is very quick, and the LTO staff here are super friendly,” he said.

“They will assist you 100% all the way, nice one LTO!,” he added.

The online driver’s license renewal comes with the option to tap accredited courier services.

From the initial application of the OFW until the delivery of the license card to the appointed foreign address in Japan, the entire process can take anywhere from 3-5 days.

The LTO is targeting to expand the digital services to other parts of the world in the soonest possible time, particularly in the Middle East, United States and Europe. #

In line with the vision of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. to shift all government transactions in the digital platform, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) under the guidance of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon, urged its clients to avail of the online driver’s license renewal through the eGovPH app.

LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said the inclusion of the driver’s license renewal in the eGovPh app was aimed at ensuring a fast and comfortable way of transaction even if the clients are in their homes or offices.

“This is a better alternative for going to LTO offices since you don’t need to shell out money for transportation to our offices and don’t even need to queue in any license renewal offices,” said Asec Mendoza.

The availability of the online driver’s license renewal in the eGovPH was also made possible through the assistance of the IT experts from the Department of Information and Communications Technology under Secretary Henry Aguda.

In order to avail of this digital transaction, LTO client needs to download and install eGovPh app in their smartphones which is available both in App Store and Google Play.

The app would then require security verification in order to protect your account.

Once the eGovPh app is installed and ready for use, here are the steps to avail of the online driver’s license renewal

1. Through eGov app, find the icon NGA, locate LTO, then click;
2. Select Online Driver’s Application;
3. Click, Renew Your Driver’s License
4. Upload or Capture the Front and Back of your Physical Driver’s License

6. Once validation is complete, review and verify the details, then hit submit

In order to ensure fast and hassle-free online application, Asec Mendoza advised LTO clients to secure the following requirements first that would be uploaded during the online transaction process:

Asec Mendoza said a successful transaction means the driver’s license is already renewed, adding that Electronic Driver’s License is also automatically generated and can be viewed in the eGov App.

He also emphasized that the e-license is valid as the physical card.

He said clients could also avail choosing a courier provider and book for delivery, or pick-up select a district office near the clients.

“All of these digitalization efforts are intended to make all transactions in the LTO fast and comfortable to all our clients as instructed by President Marcos through Secretary Dizon. We are continue evolving to further improve our digital services and expand the reach to all Filipinos even in abroad,” said Asec Mendoza.

Last year, it was recalled that the Asec Mendoza led the launching of the online driver’s license application in Taiwan. #
