NORMAL ANG UNANG OGTT… PERO KAILAN KAILANGAN ULITIN?

May tanong ang isang mommy:
"Pwede po bang ulitin ang OGTT kahit normal ang unang result?"
✅ Oo, pwede itong ulitin sa mga piling sitwasyon.
Kahit normal ang unang Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT), may mga pagkakataon na maaaring mag-develop pa rin ng Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) habang lumalaki ang pagbubuntis.
Maaaring irekomenda ng inyong OB na ulitin ang test kung:

🔹 May sintomas ng mataas na blood sugar (matinding pagkauhaw, madalas na pag-ihi, atbp.)
🔹 Lumalaki nang higit sa inaasahan ang baby (suspected macrosomia)
🔹 May polyhydramnios o sobrang dami ng panubigan
🔹 May iba pang clinical findings na nagpapataas ng suspicion para sa GDM

Kaya kung may bagong findings sa ultrasound o may sintomas na lumalabas, huwag magulat kung irekomenda ng inyong OB na ulitin ang OGTT kahit normal ang naunang resulta.

I'm usually not one to post about politics.
But as a doctor in a government hospital, I see firsthand how the gaps in our healthcare system affect real patients every single day.

🌸 A Prayer for Our Little Miracle 🌸

After years of longing, countless prayers, and so much sacrifice — she is finally pregnant. 💛
At 42, my dear patient has fought one of the hardest battles a woman can face — primary infertility at an advanced age.And she didn't fight it alone. Her husband, working hard as an OFW in Singapore, has been by her side in every way possible. She would travel to Singapore during her ovulation window, because love — and hope — knows no distance.
The journey has been mentally exhausting and financially draining — the workups, the clinic visits, the ovulation induction, the waiting, the hoping, the praying. But they never gave up.
And then — a positive test. 🥹
The first ultrasound at 5 weeks showed no heartbeat yet, and the fear was real.Grabe ang iyak nila but they kept praying.
And then a repeat ultrasound was done at 7 weeks — baby's heart is beating strong! 💓
I am beyond excited for this beautiful couple. This baby is so loved already, so prayed for, so fought for.
To everyone who believes in the power of prayer — please join me in lifting this family up. 🙏 Pray for a safe, healthy, and full-term pregnancy. Pray for peace over every anxious moment. Pray for the miracle to continue.
