INTRODUCTION
The Department of Emergency Medicine is a professionalized unit manned by Board-certified emergency physicians with the intent of delivering the acute and critical care that befits a tertiary medical center. Patients are attended to according to the internationally-accepted triage classification without regard for economic status, color or creed. The vast array of ailments seen at the

ER in varying stages, complemented by comprehensive modern diagnostic services, serves as a fertile ground for clinical exposure, academic learning and skills development. The advent of evidence-based medicine coupled with coordination and cooperation with other clinical departments and the hospital’s ancillary services further enhance the delivery of unparalleled emergency care. The Perpetual Help Medical Center Las Piñas - Department of Emergency Medicine is dedicated to develop competent, God-centered, service-oriented, and research-driven Emergency Medicine Physicians in order to provide the utmost healthcare service to patients in their future practice. In its striving for excellence, the residency program is committed to serving the community, the sponsoring institution, the faculty, staff, and resident physicians. VISION
In the spirit of teamwork and camaraderie, the Perpetual Help Medical Center Las Piñas -Department of Emergency Medicine shall emerge as a premier Residency Training Institution in the specialty of Emergency Medicine in the Philippines, producing competent physicians capable of teaching and inspiring future colleagues together with other healthcare workers, updated in the latest trends of the field. EDUCATION
The purpose of the Emergency Medicine Residency is to provide a progressive, organized educational program with guidance and supervision which facilitates the resident’s personal and professional development while ensuring appropriate and safe patient care. Residents in our program join a department that emphasizes lifelong learning, creativity, and professionalism. Our aim is to provide this training through a continuity of didactic and clinical experience. Our goal is to produce a physician capable of a high level of performance who is certified by the Philippine Board of Emergency Medicine.
