We stand with our community in strongly condemning all forms of disrespect and discrimination. Our platforms should be used to uplift others and spread kindness, never to degrade persons with exceptionalities. Let’s choose to build a community where persons with disabilities are treated with equal respect that they deserve.

STATEMENT ON RIDICULE ON A PODCAST

The Autism Society Philippines reminds content creators and podcasters that Republic Act No. 7277, prohibits public ridicule and vilification of persons with disabilities. Violations may carry fines or imprisonment.

As a community, we must not give our precious time to watching creators and listening to podcasts not capable of basic respect.

Disability is not a punchline. Freedom of expression must never come at the expense of the rights and humanity of persons with disabilities.
