Noong nakaraang Lunes, May 11, ay nagkaroon ng lay forum ang UP-PGH Adult Hematology Division!

Pinagtuunan ng pansin ang anemia in pregnancy—isang kondisyon kung saan kulang ang hemoglobin o red blood cells ng buntis, kadalasan dahil sa kakulangan sa iron at iba pang mahahalagang nutrisyon na kailangan para sa malusog na pagbubuntis.

Tandaan: Ang malusog na dugo ay mahalaga para sa ligtas na pagbubuntis at malusog na sanggol!

Kung ikaw ay buntis at nakakaranas ng mga sintomas ng anemia o may mga katanungan tungkol dito, huwag mag-atubiling magpakonsulta sa pinakamalapit na health center o sa inyong doktor.

Thalassemia presents unique challenges during pregnancy and requires a multidisciplinary approach to optimize both maternal and fetal outcomes.

🩸 Key clinical considerations include:
🔹 Genetic counselling and screening
🔹 Early recognition of maternal complications such as anemia, iron overload, thrombosis risk, and cardiac dysfunction
🔹 Appropriate prenatal surveillance, hematologic monitoring, and transfusion strategies when indicated
🔹 Multidisciplinary care
