The Federal Campus Emergency Response Team (Federal CERT) proudly took part in the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026 Kick-Off Community Clean-Up Drive spearheaded by the Lucban Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).

Together with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), KBNET Quezon, the Local Campus Emergency Response Teams of Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), and fellow youth volunteers, we joined hands in promoting a cleaner, safer, and more resilient community.

Disaster resilience isn't built only during emergenciesโ€”it begins with everyday actions. Through initiatives like this, we are reminded that protecting our environment is also one way of protecting our communities.

As we celebrate National Disaster Resilience Month 2026, Federal CERT remains committed to serving beyond emergencies by promoting preparedness, volunteerism, and community engagement.

Every July, we observe National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) in accordance with Republic Act No. 10121, reminding every Filipino of the importance of disaster preparedness, resilience, and collective action in building safer communities.

With this year's theme, "๐๐š๐ ๐ก๐š๐ก๐š๐ง๐๐š ๐š๐ญ ๐Š๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ข๐ค๐ข๐ฅ๐จ๐ฌ ๐“๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐จ ๐ฌ๐š ๐๐š๐ง๐š๐ญ๐š๐  ๐ง๐š ๐๐š๐ ๐จ๐ง๐  ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐š๐ฌ." we are encouraged to take an active role in promoting preparedness and strengthening our capacity to respond to emergencies. From learning to lifesaving.

The final day of the Basic Life Support (BLS) Training marked the successful completion of Batch 3 as participants showcased the knowledge and skills they gained through return demonstrations and competency assessments facilitated by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Lucban, with the assistance of the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) On-the-Job Trainees.

From performing CPR and Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) Management to applying proper emergency response procedures, participants demonstrated confidence, teamwork, and readiness to respond during critical situations. The training not only strengthened their technical skills but also reinforced the importance of preparedness and service to the community.

With the completion of Batch 3, the SLSU-CERT Basic Life Support Training: Preparing to Respond to Campus Emergencies officially concludes, producing a new generation of student responders equipped with essential life-saving skills and a stronger commitment to protecting others.

This activity was made possible through the collaborative efforts of SLSU DRRMO, the Federal Campus Emergency Response Team (Federal CERT), and SSCF, whose continued partnership promotes preparedness, resilience, and a culture of service within the university community.
