Cholesterol check = heart check
“Good” cholesterol (HDL) protects your heart, while “bad” cholesterol (LDL) clogs arteries. Know your numbers—it’s a small test that can save your life.

Data overload isn't helpful—but knowing these numbers can help you stay healthy.

Belly size is a big clue.

Your waistline can tell more about your health than your weight. For men, keep it below 40 inches; for women, below 35 inches to lower your risk for diabetes and heart problems.

1. EVALI (E-cigarette or Va**ng Product Use-Associated Lung Injury)
• Description: A serious, sometimes fatal lung disease first identified in 2019.
• Cause: Linked primarily to va**ng products containing THC and vitamin E acetate, but also reported in nicotine-only v**es.
• Symptoms: Shortness of breath, cough, chest pain, fever, and gastrointestinal symptoms.
• Effect: Causes severe lung inflammation and damage.

2. Popcorn Lung (Bronchiolitis Obliterans)
• Description: A rare disease that damages the small airways in the lungs, leading to scarring and narrowing.
• Cause: Some flavorings in v**e liquids (like diacetyl) have been linked to this condition, though it’s less common now as many manufacturers avoid diacetyl.
• Symptoms: Coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath that worsen over time.

3. Chronic Bronchitis & COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
• Description: Long-term inflammation of the airways, which can contribute to or worsen COPD.
• Cause: Ongoing irritation and inflammation from inhaling v***r and chemicals.
• Symptoms: Chronic cough, mucus production, shortness of breath.

4. Asthma Exacerbation and New Onset Asthma
• Description: Va**ng can trigger or worsen asthma symptoms.
• Effect: Increased airway reactivity, inflammation, and attacks.

5. General Lung Inflammation and Damage
• Description: Even without a clear disease label, va**ng can cause inflammation in lung tissue, leading to decreased lung function and higher susceptibility to infections.

Key Takeaway:

While va**ng is often marketed as safer than smoking, it is not safe for the lungs. The full long-term effects are still being studied, but the evidence shows that it can cause significant lung injury and disease.

How Not to Talk to Your Doctor (And What to Say Instead)
(a friendly guide for better healthcare conversations)

- Diagnosis
- Management / Advice / Recommendation
- Days of rest

Respectful messages go a long way.

❌ "Doc.."..
"Pwede magtanong?" ..
✅ "Good morning doc, tanong ko lang po (insert concern here). Thank you doc."
💡Kapag may context ang message (Anong tanong? Tungkol saan?) mas mabilis at maayos kaming makakasagot.
Hindi din lahat ng doctor ay open for online consultation so check your doctor's consultation availability first.

Prevent heat stroke. 🥵 Carry a reusable water bottle ( preferably with a capacity of at least 1 liter). Fill it up and consume not less than 8 glasses a day ( roughly 2 liters). Sip this throughout the day. 💦💧
