A few years back, someone once asked me, “Do you think you are good enough as a physical therapist to show your face on social media while doing your treatment sessions?” Then told me, “If you are genuine in what you do, take down the pictures and don’t post again.”

I cried really hard.

Yes, I am not perfect, but I am passionate about what I do… a passion that fuels me to grow, learn, and serve to the best of my ability.

When I got the news, I was stunned and asked myself if I really deserved it. The people who believed in me reassured me that I do.

Thank you, Dove x Mega Magazine, for this recognition. Out of thousands of entries, my story was chosen. This Dove Real Repair Hero award is for all the children and their families, for all pediatric therapists, and for all the people who believed in me.

Thank you, Mommy Gwendolyn Jessa, for the nomination. We’ve been working on this advocacy for 10 years now, and this recognition fuels our drive to do more. Thank you also to my family and friends for believing in me. Thank you, Steven, for your all-out support (from gown fitting, choosing the right heels and accessories, to taking beautiful photos and videos throughout the day).
