Did you know? 🧋🍚 A medium milk tea with pearls can have as much—or even more—carbohydrates than 1 cup of rice.

Choose less sugar, skip the pearls, or share your drink to help reduce your carb intake.

Small choices can make a big difference in blood sugar control.

Low blood sugar? Remember the 15–15 Rule: take 15 grams of fast-acting carbohydrates, wait 15 minutes, then recheck your blood sugar.

Examples include ½ cup fruit juice or regular soda, 3 teaspoons sugar dissolved in water, 1 tablespoon honey, or glucose tablets/gel.

Know the signs. Treat early. Stay safe.

Healthy snacking can help keep blood sugar more stable. Choose snacks that combine high-fiber carbohydrates with protein or healthy fats, such as apple with peanut butter, Greek yogurt with berries, whole-grain crackers with cheese, or vegetables with hummus.

Remember: watch portions, choose unsweetened drinks, pick high-fiber foods, and limit added sugar.

Small choices today can make a big difference to your health. đź’š

🌧️ WADING THROUGH FLOODWATER? KNOW WHAT TO DO AFTER EXPOSURE.

Floodwater may be contaminated with urine from rats and other infected animals, putting you at risk for leptospirosis.

💊 Doxycycline may be used as post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) in appropriate situations. Ideally, PEP should be started within 24–72 hours after exposure.

The recommended regimen depends on the type of exposure:
• Single exposure, intact skin: Doxycycline 200 mg once
• Mucosal exposure or presence of a wound: Doxycycline 200 mg once daily for 3–5 days
• Repeated or continuous exposure: Doxycycline 200 mg once weekly until the exposure ends

⚠️ Important: Antibiotic prophylaxis does not replace prevention. Avoid unnecessary contact with floodwater, wear boots and protective clothing, cover open wounds, and wash thoroughly after exposure.

If you develop fever, severe headache, muscle pain, red eyes, vomiting, jaundice, or decreased urine output after possible exposure, seek medical attention promptly.

Consult a healthcare professional before taking doxycycline, particularly for children, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, or those with contraindications or medication interactions.

Stay informed. Protect yourself and your family from leptospirosis.
