Teambonding of BK Makati meditation practitioners
Marcus Aurelius, often remembered as the last of Rome’s Five Good Emperors and a symbol of wise, principled leadership, quoted that comfort can become the worst addiction because it quietly weakens the soul.
From a Raja Yoga perspective, comfort as subtle bo***ge means
that when we cling to ease, familiarity, or predictable situations, the soul loses its natural power. But when we step beyond comfort — even in small ways — we awaken:
Inner strength
Clarity of purpose
Courage to face situations·
Capacity to serve with love
This essence beautifully describes the experience of those who participated in the teambonding. It was an experience to choose to go beyond discomfort, doubts, and scarcity. Their stock
of inner resources was quietly tested in the midst of "suddenly"
— and they responded with resilience.
Participants expressed:
“Instead of complaining, I enjoyed being creative in finding solutions to any problem.”·
“I made the right decision when I didn’t allow maya to distract me.”
“To see a challenging situation in a positive light — the experience is a subtle test of my readiness to let go of comfort, protocols, and adjust at the onset of the situation.”
These sharings reflect how stepping beyond comfort becomes a spiritual training ground — strengthening the soul, refining sanskars, and deepening trust in the self, family, drama and God.
