Pippa, an 11-year-old Toy Poodle, presented with a non-healing superficial corneal ulcer present for approximately 3 months (since February 2026), with persistent blepharospasm despite multiple medical therapies.

Ophthalmic evaluation revealed Spontaneous Chronic Corneal Epithelial Defect, and a Diamond Burr Debridement was performed to remove non-adherent epithelium and promote epithelial adhesion.

Post-procedure, the patient is comfortable, visual, and no longer exhibiting blepharospasm, with favorable corneal healing progression.

Not all corneal ulcers heal with medical management alone. Timely ophthalmic intervention is essential to restore corneal integrity, improve patient comfort, and preserve vision.
