A Geriatric Care Symposium was successfully conducted on July 24, 2026, at the Barangay Bangcud Covered Court through the collaborative efforts of the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), headed by Sir Rene Cipriano, and the City Health Office β Health and Wellness Program for Senior Citizens (HWPSC) under the leadership of Carlos Ycaro Jr., Nurse Program Coordinator, together with Glaizel Dawn Palabrica, RN, and Rhona Jane Cape, RN.
The activity was attended by senior citizens and their caregivers from the North District and aimed to promote healthy aging while increasing awareness of common health concerns among older adults.
The symposium featured Dr. Nena Rose S. Sion, MD, Diplomate in Internal Medicine, who delivered an informative lecture on geriatric care. The discussion emphasized disease prevention, healthy lifestyle practices, medication adherence, and the importance of regular health check-ups.
Through this activity, participants gained valuable knowledge and practical guidance to help them maintain their health, prevent age-related illnesses, and improve their overall quality of life.
The symposium also reinforced the continued commitment of the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) and the City Health Office to promoting the health, wellness, and well-being of the senior citizen community through collaborative and community-based health initiatives.
