We're officially on our second cohort of Associate S*xologists! 🥹❤️ Sometimes I still can't believe we're here.
When I decided to specialize in s*x and relationship therapy, there wasn't a structured pathway in the Philippines, or even much of Southeast Asia. I spent nearly 10 years flying between the Philippines, Canada, and the United States to study, train, and gain clinical experience. (Thank you, Visa and Mastercard and Papa. 😅)
That experience became the foundation of Unprude S*xology.
I realized that if we truly want conversations about s*x to become more normal, we need more qualified people leading those conversations. The reality is that while many professionals receive training in s*xual and reproductive health, very few receive comprehensive education in s*xology. Medical professionals often receive limited training in addressing s*xual concerns. Many mental health practitioners aren't taught how to integrate s*xuality into therapy. Educators are rarely trained to facilitate conversations beyond anatomy and reproduction.
That's the gap we wanted to help fill.
Today, we've trained close to 100 individuals across our Level 1 to Level 3 programs, and that's something I'm incredibly proud of.
What I love most is seeing who joins us. We've had physicians, psychologists, counselors, nurses, educators, social workers, and professionals from many other fields. We've also welcomed people who simply want to understand human s*xuality better, whether for personal growth, advocacy, or because they want to create safer spaces in their own communities.
We're not here to just train more professionals, we're here to build a community of people who can help others navigate s*xuality with confidence, compassion, science, and respect. Because if we want a more s*xually respectful society, we need more people to live it.
Congratulations, Cohort 2! ❤️ Let's get to work! 💪
