From Research to Leadership: MDH DEM makes waves at ICEM 2026 🌐 💫

The Manila Doctors Hospital - Department of Emergency Medicine (MDH - DEM) proudly represented the Philippines at the 25th International Conference on Emergency Medicine (ICEM 2026) in Hamburg, Germany last June 9-13, 2026, reaffirming MDH’s growing influence and leadership within the global emergency medicine community.

A testament to MDH’s commitment to academic excellence, six of our dear DEM residents—Dr. Veronica Capitle, Dr. Christian Ed Ciencia, Dr. Maria Isabella De Jesus, Dr. Emilio Fernandez, Dr. J. Alfred Lozañes, and Dr. Maria Alyssa Manahan—presented their case presentations before an international audience of emergency medicine specialists, showcasing the caliber of clinical training, innovation, and scholarly work cultivated at MDH.

The conference also marked a historic milestone for the IFEM as a leadership transition took place. We take immense pride in our very own Dr. Pauline F. Convocar, who officially assumed office as the new IFEM President, bringing Filipino leadership to the forefront of global emergency medicine.

As we celebrate these achievements, Manila Doctors Hospital – Department of Emergency Medicine remains steadfast in its mission to lead, inspire, and shape the future of emergency medicine—locally, regionally, and globally.

The Manila Doctors Hospital Department Emergency Medicine invites you to its 17TH POSTGRADUATE COURSE

🚨 “VITAL+: Sharpening Critical Care in the Emergency Department” 🚨

📅 September 25-26, 2026, 0800H–1700H
🏢 Diamond Hotel, Manila

This course will focus on key areas vital to Emergency Care. Our objectives are to enhance critical care capabilities in the ED by improving resuscitation and vascular access, refining cardiac diagnostics, strengthening thromboembolism and anticoagulant management, advancing neuro and limb emergency care, and elevating pediatric pain assessment and family communication.

We will also be holding our PRE-CONVENTION WORKSHOPS in collaboration with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians
