โจ๐บ Story Time: Always Be Kind ๐บโจ
I was invited to be a speaker for a Department activity last Wednesday.
After morning clinic, I decided to ride a taxi to go to my speaking engagement. While en route, I noticed the taxi driver to be visibly shaken. Apparently, he was a victim of a hold-up just this morning. His passenger was the main target and he was the collateral. All of his earnings for the past few days were stolen from him, together with his cellphone.
As much as he wanted to go home after filing a police report, he was unable to do so because he did not have money to fuel up to reach home. His only request at the start of the ride was to pay with exact amount, if possible.
When we reached my destination, I gave him more than the taxi fare, more than enough to reach home. I told him to keep the change, go home and spend time with his kids. He cried and thanked me for my generosity. I told him I am grateful that he was safe from that ordeal. No one deserves to experience what he did. He is doing decent work to provide for his family.
I wish him well and hope justice be served for him.
