Dear SDEAS Students,

Greetings!

As part of the Benildean Mission Week 2026, the Benilde Well-Being Center - Deaf Unit is inviting you for a learning session entitled “Changing the Narrative: Start the Conversation on Deaf Mental Health,” to be facilitated by Ms. Maria Gilda M. Miciano-Diaz, RGC, RPm. The session will be held on:

Date and Time: October 23, 2026 (Friday) | 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM
Venue: 3/F CLM Contemplation Room, the Atrium@Benilde.

The session aims to promote mental health awareness, encourage open conversations, and strengthen help-seeking and su***de prevention among Deaf students. It will also encourage participants to recognize their strengths, build hope and resilience, and reflect on their personal growth, meaning, and purpose.

Dear Benildean Parents and Associates,

Greetings in Saint Benilde!

The Benilde Well-Being Center Parents Team, in cooperation with the Benildean Parents in Action, cordially invites you to attend a parenting seminar entitled “Building the Academic Scaffold: How to Support Your Child at Home” on October 24,2026, Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 NN. This event will be held at the 12/F The Loop, D+A Campus, and via Zoom.

The seminar-workshop will be facilitated by Mr. El Anelio R. Barnachea, a Registered Guidance Counselor and the Director of the Benilde Well-Being Center.

At the end of the program, the participants are expected to:


1. Identify ways parents can support their child’s academic adjustment while encouraging independence.
2. Apply practical strategies for supporting their child without taking over their academic responsibilities.
3. Recognize the importance of balancing parental support with their child’s need for autonomy, confidence, and responsibility.

The event will be held in a hybrid format, allowing attendees to choose between onsite (face-to-face) and online participation. This flexibility ensures that we can encourage parents to actively participate.
