Through Her Eyes: A Daughter’s Final Gift to Her Hero Father

To the world, he was a protector—a retired policeman who spent his life serving the community, maintaining order, and keeping strangers safe. But to her, he was simply "Dad."

When he passed away, his mission to protect did not come to an end. Instead, it transformed into a final, profound act of service. In her grief, his only daughter made a decision that only someone with her unique heart and background could make.

As a dedicated Transplant Coordinator, she spends her days witnessing the fragile line between loss and hope. She guides families through their darkest hours, helping them find comfort in giving the gift of life to others.
When the time came to face that very same choice for her own father, her dedication never wavered. With a heart full of love as both a daughter and a healthcare professional, she gave her consent to the Eye Bank Foundation of the Philippines to donate her father's corneas.

For years, this retired policeman watched over his community. Now, through the selflessness of a daughter who understood the true value of sight, he lives on as a hero in someone else’s eyes. Literally. Somewhere, a recipient will see the world anew, carrying forward the vision of a man who lived to serve, and the legacy of a daughter who loved him enough to let his light shine on.

Bringing the Gift of Sight to Cagayan Province! 👁️

We are thrilled to share that the Eye Bank recently held a highly successful talk and round table discussion at the Governor's residence in Tuguegarao!

This vital meeting focused on how Cagayan Province can actively participate in our lifelong mission: bringing sight to the blind through corneal donation and transplantation.

This initiative was organized in close coordination with the office of Governor Aglipay, who remains a deeply passionate advocate for our cause. The mission hits close to home for the Governor, whose own daughter has successfully undergone corneal transplants in both eyes.

We are incredibly grateful for his unwavering and personal support!

The event saw an amazing, positive turnout from key health leaders across the region, including:
