Not every day has to be productive, meaningful, or full of progress. 🌿

Some days are for growing. Some are simply for getting through—and both are okay.

If today feels heavy, be gentle with yourself. Getting through a difficult day is still something to be proud of.

We’re often quick to comfort others, forgive their mistakes, and remind them that they’re doing their best. But when it comes to ourselves, we can be much harder.

Today, remember to offer yourself the same kindness you so freely give to others. šŸ¤ You deserve patience, understanding, and grace, too.

READ EACH CAPTIONšŸ’š

No parent is perfect just as no child is perfect, and there are no perfect families.

But we can make our family relationships work
perfectly according to our specific needs and
circumstances.

The most important thing is creating a loving and safe home environment where each family member thrives.

Some days, getting through the day is already enough. You’re allowed to feel tired, overwhelmed, sad, or simply not yourself—and you don’t have to hide it.

So, a gentle check-in: How are you really feeling today?

A new month begins…

inviting us to breathe deeper,

releasing the worries of the past,

grounding ourselves in the present moment.

As our body descends into a gentle stillness…

reminding us to quiet the noise within,

finding peace in the simple act of being,

rather than constantly doing,

let us consciously release what no longer serves us…

making space for inner growth and a more mindful existence…

slowing the pace,

offering a sanctuary for the mind.

Embrace the opportunity to nurture our inner landscape…

with kindness and self-compassion.

Like the trees preparing for winter,

this new month encourages us to conserve our energy,

giving mindful attention to our well-bejng,

and putting attention to what matters most.

Peace and love ā¤ļø

Be the one to notice! Take time to talk to your loved ones. Take time to listen.

According to the Mayo Clinic Health System (2024) Here are a few common signs:

1. Being preoccupied with d*ath, dying or violence.
2. Changing regular routine, including eating or sleeping patterns.
3. Developing personality changes or being severely anxious or agitated, particularly when experiencing some of the warning signs listed above.
4. Doing risky or self-destructive things, such as using drugs or driving recklessly.
5. Feeling trapped or hopeless about a situation.
6. Getting the means to take your own life, such as buying a gun or stockpiling pills.
7. Giving away belongings or getting affairs in order when there is no other logical explanation for doing this.
8. Having mood swings, such as being emotionally high one day and deeply discouraged the next.
9. Increasing use of alcohol or drugs.
10. Saying goodbye to people as if they won't be seen again.
11. Talking about su***de — making statements such as, "I'm going to k*ll myself," "I wish I were d*ad" or "I wish I hadn't been born."
12. Withdrawing from social contact and wanting to be left alone.

If you notice any of these, don't hesitate to ASK!

Long term anxiety has adverse effects on an individual’s daily functioning such as a tendency to be isolative and avoidant, losing interest and motivation to do anything, and may turn to maladaptive behaviors like drinking and gambling in order to cope; all of which could lead to broken relationships, lost careers, and other painful emotional sufferings if left unchecked.

When life hands you lemons…

…ask for sugar. Toinks! 🤩🤪

Well, you can’t really make lemonade without sugar (or monk fruit, honey, or stevia for those on the health wagon šŸ˜†) can you? šŸ˜‚

I don’t know about you, but I don’t like sour lemonade 😁.

What are things that sweeten the lemon a.k.a life’s challenges—which by the way can not only be sour but also bitter?

3 kinds of ā€œsugarā€ come to mind:
1ļøāƒ£ Gratitude
2ļøāƒ£ Kindness
3ļøāƒ£ Self-compassion

Remember, without sweetener, y’all are gonna be sour lemons…or sour apples 🤪.

What about you? What sweetener are you adding in when life hands you lemons? šŸ„°šŸ’—

Broken Home šŸ

I once had a client who said ā€œthank goodness they didā€, referring to when her parents finally divorced. Because according to her, that ended the chaos in their home and they could finally have some peace. The children didn’t have to witness the constant bickering, resentment, and animosity between their parents.

ā€œBroken homeā€ is almost always synonymous with having separated parents. But let’s dispel the myth that a ā€œbroken homeā€ equates to divorced/separated parents.

A family with both parents together can be a ā€œbroken homeā€ if there’s no love; if there’s no respect for boundaries; if there’s abuse and violence going on; if there’s no nurturing happening, while a single parent household can be an intact home as long as there’s love and unity; respect for boundaries; nurture and secure attachment.

As the celebration of family week is ramping up, let’s consider the many different ways a unit can be a family and how each family can be a home.

Whatever family system you’re in, conventional or unconventional, traditional or non-traditional, what makes and completes a home is not found in the roles each family member plays. What makes a home whole is each family member’s bond for one another—LOVE.
