𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲 🌈

Meet 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼, 22, who bravely battled 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝟯 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗺𝗮.

“𝘐 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘢𝘴𝘬 𝘎𝘰𝘥, 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘮𝘦? 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘳? 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘥𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘳, 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘶𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴. 𝘚𝘰 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘮𝘦?”

Shane didn’t plan for her life to change in an instant, but it did. A diagnosis of Grade 3 Diffuse Glioma shook her world. She worried about school, finances, and survival. Nothing felt certain.

“𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘹𝘦𝘥 𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘦 3 𝘋𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘎𝘭𝘪𝘰𝘮𝘢. 𝘐 𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥, 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦, 𝘮𝘺 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘭. 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴.”

Guided by a dedicated medical team, Shane underwent both chemotherapy and radiation, which required daily hospital visits that were physically and emotionally exhausting. She used 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘇𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗲 (𝗧𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮) for her oral chemotherapy.

After nearly a year of strength and perseverance, 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿-𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲.

She remains deeply grateful to her doctors, family, and friends.

“𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘔𝘴. 𝘊𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘒𝘶𝘺𝘢 𝘍𝘦𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘖𝘯𝘤𝘰 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘗𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘴, 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘮’𝘴 𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴—even 𝘪𝘧 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘸𝘰 𝘣𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘴—and 𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦, 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴. 𝘔𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘥.”

Shane’s journey is a reminder that 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿. We at 𝗢𝗻𝗰𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝘀 are proud to have been part of her journey ✨
