Travelling this summer?
Here are some Eye Care essentials!
1. UV-Protective Sunglasses
When it comes to sun exposure, your eyes are just as susceptible to UV damage as your skin. Long-term exposure may lead to an increased risk of cataracts, macular degeneration and photokeratitis (a sunburn of the cornea). And make sure you invest in a pair of quality sunglasses with 100% UVA and UVB protection.
2. A Hat or Cap for Extra Shade
Make sure to wear a wide-brimmed hat or cap, which is a great way to protect your eyes, e.g. when sightseeing outdoors. This not only enhances your sunglasses, but it also minimizes squinting and eye strain.
3. Contact Lens Kit with Backups
If you use contact lenses, apack your lens case, small-sized solution and an extra pair of lenses. Wearers of lenses may find other sites, like dusty locations or windy beaches, more irritating more easily. Bring your glasses as a backup, too, in case your eyes dry out or become too irritated to wear contacts. And note — never swim with contacts in!
4. Cooling Eye Mask or Eye Patches
Your eyes could also be tired or puffy from long hours of travel or sightseeing in the sun. A cooling gel eye mask or hydrating Under Eye Patches can help reduce puffiness, soothe tired eyes, and provide a quick, spa-like experience, all while on the go.
5. Antibacterial Wipes or Clean Cloth
Your eyes are everything when it comes to hygiene. And always have a clean microfiber cloth with you when you wear glasses or sunglasses, as well as antibacterial wipes to sanitize your hands before touching your eyes or putting in eye drops.
6. Travel-Friendly Eye Wash
Exposure to pollution, allergens, or a dusty trail can sometimes make your eyes feel irritated. A portable, travel size sterile eye wash can work wonders to help rinse the eyes and flush out debris in the eyes for immediate relief.
Summer eye care essentials for travel are just as important for a smooth and comfortable vacation.
