Ang Vitamin D3 ay Effective Laban sa Breast Cancer Habang nag Chemotherapy

Pinakita ng isang 2025 randomized, placebo-controlled trial published (PMID: 40098326) published sa "Nutrition and Cancer" na ang pag supplement ng Vitamin D3 ay napaka effective sa breast cancer habang nag chemo.

"Effective", meaning, "the absence of invasive cancer in both the breast and axillary lymph nodes, confirmed after surgery".

Ginawa ang study sa postmenopausal women na may breast cancer at nag neoadjuvant chemotherapy (ang chemotherapy drugs ay binibigay bago ang operasyon o kasama ng ibang treatments gaya ng radiation.

🔹Findings:
Ang mga babaeng may breast cancer na nag supplement ng 2000 IU/day ng Vitamin D3 sa loob ng 6 buwan na chemotherapy ay nagkaroon ng 43% effectivity, kumpara sa 24% lang sa placebo group.

🔹 Vitamin D status and response:

- Baseline 25(OH)D levels indicated widespread sub-clinical deficiency in both groups (vit D group: 19.6 ng/mL; placebo: 21 ng/mL)

- After supplementation, the vit D group reached 28 ng/mL, significantly higher than the placebo group (20.2 ng/mL)

- Logistic regression showed that women with 25(OH)D ≥ 20 ng/mL were 3.65 times more likely to achieve complete response rates than those with deficient levels.
