The news is full of problems, conflict, uncertainty, suffering, disasters, fear, and so many things we cannot control.

And if we are not careful, our hearts can become restless too.

But Jesus reminds us:

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” — John 14:27

What a comfort to know that the peace Jesus gives is not dependent on everything around us becoming peaceful.

The world may still feel unstable.
The news may still be heavy.
Our personal circumstances may still be difficult.

But Christ remains the same.

Jesus also said:

“In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33

So when everything around us feels uncertain, we can still rest in the One who is never uncertain.

When fear rises, we remember His sovereignty.
When the news becomes heavy, we remember His promises.
When we cannot control what is happening, we remember that God is still on His throne.

Lord, thank You that Your peace is greater than the chaos around me.

Help me not to be consumed by fear, but to keep my heart anchored in Christ.

The world may be troubled, but my hope is secure because Jesus has overcome the world.
