INSIDE THE ACADEMY | On 25 September 2024, the Safety and Security Office held a safety forum at the Dom Emilio Building, bringing together midshipmen of all classes to discuss essential safety measures and protocols onboard. The event featured informative presentations, engaging discussions, and question and answer sessions focused on creating a safer environment and promoting safety culture for the fleet, and eventually to their time onboard ships.

Key topics included onboard emergencies and preparedness, onboard accidents, safety culture for both deck and engine cadets, and proactive safety strategies.

Responsibility is one of the values maintained among the cadets of the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific. But responsibilty is none without awareness of what you should be responsible for. The Fleet’s Forum for Safety aims to address that knowledge gap to help prevent catastrophic consequences simply due to underestimated circumstances, like how a lover’s quarrel could spark up a whole community.

𝑺𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒕𝒚 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕: 𝑪𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔 2028 𝑷𝒖𝒕𝒔 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝒗𝒂𝒄𝒖𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑫𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝑺𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑻𝒆𝒔𝒕

Last August 17, 2024, the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific-Safety and Security Department conducted a fire and evacuation drill for the Class of 2028 at the IMMAJ Dormitory- West Campus. Led by the Fleet Safety Officer Midn. 1Cl Reyes along with Midn. 1Cl Parafina and the 2Cl Safety Officers, the drill aimed to enhance the students' preparedness and response capabilities in emergency situations.
