Barangay Dawan Celebrates a Meaningful and Successful Nutrition Month 2026
Barangay Dawan successfully celebrated the 2026 Nutrition Month on July 24, 2026, at the Barangay Dawan Covered Court, bringing together local officials, day care learners, parents, and community members in a vibrant celebration of health, nutrition, and wellness.
The activity was led by Punong Barangay Ivan Guias, together with the Barangay Council who personally attended the celebration, namely; Kag. Gerardo Cabilan, Kag. Peter John Arpon, Kag. Michael Genon, Kag. Rito Raman, Kag. Mirachi Abis, and Kag. Fe Arafol, who all demonstrated their unwavering support for nutrition and health initiatives in the barangay.
Day care learners and their parents actively participated in the event, making the celebration more meaningful through their enthusiastic involvement. The program was further enlivened by a series of entertaining intermission numbers performed by the children, showcasing their talents and adding joy to the occasion.
The celebration featured various health and nutrition activities, including fluoride application for day care learners, oral health and nutrition education advocacy, and the much-awaited Healthy Food Display Contest, highlighting nutritious, affordable, and locally available food choices.
The success of the celebration was made possible through the dedication and leadership of Barangay Midwife Ma. Jessa Caiรฑa, together with the committed barangay healthcare team, especially Barangay Nutrition Scholar Myrna Chy, and the Child Development Workers, whose tireless efforts ensured the successful implementation of the program.
As one of the highlights of the event, Dawan Proper emerged as the Champion in the Healthy Food Display Contest, followed by Bigue CDC as 1st Runner-up, Tagamot CDC as 2nd Runner-up, and Lower Dawan as 3rd Runner-up.
The successful celebration reflects Barangay Dawanโs strong commitment to promoting nutrition, oral health, and community participation. Through the collective efforts of the barangay officials, healthcare team, parents, and children, the event served as a meaningful reminder that ensuring proper nutrition and a healthy future is a shared responsibility.
