Municipality of Mina Participates in the Province-Wide Simultaneous MR-SIA Kick-Off Ceremony

The Municipality of Mina proudly supports the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MRSIA) to help protect every eligible child against vaccine-preventable diseases and improve their overall health and immunity, by participating in the Province-wide simultaneous MR-SIA Kick-Off Ceremony today, August 3, 2026, led by Hon. Rey P Grabato, Municipal Mayor, and our Municipal Health Officer Dr. Janeatte A. Sobrevega. Members of the Sangunian also participated by administering Vitamin A to the eligible children.

Together, let's ensure our children grow up healthy, strong, and protected.

🌿 Mina Municipal Primary Health Care Facility Celebrates 52nd Nutrition Month 🌿

The 52nd Nutrition Month was celebrated by the Mina Municipal Primary Health Care Facility in collaboration with Mina Department of Agriculture, Mina Department of Education, and Negrense Volunteers for Change (NVC) Foundation, a Non-Government Organization, to raise awareness on the importance of proper nutrition and healthy lifestyles in achieving better health and well-being for all Filipinos. It serves as an opportunity to educate individuals, families, and communities about making healthy food choices, preventing malnutrition, and promoting food security. The celebration also encourages collective action among government agencies, organizations, and communities to support programs and initiatives that improve nutritional status and contribute to a healthier and more productive nation.

The activity was conducted last July 14, 2026, at the Mina Evacuation Center, where prenatal and dental consultations, immunizations, visual inspection using acetic acid (VIA), showcase of crops from different barangays in collaboration with Mina DA, and poster making by students from Mina National High School ang Agmanaphao Integrated School.

Together, let's promote healthy eating, active living, and sustainable practices for a healthier community. Every healthy choice we make today builds a brighter tomorrow.

📌 Dapat maka tulog sang at least 5 to 6 hours.
📌 Mag kaon at least two hours antes mag donate, pero iwalsan ang pagkaon sang mga ma tambok or mantikaon nga pagkaon.
📌 Mag inom damo nga tubig or juice beforehand.
📌 Indi mag inom alcohol or smoke at least 24 hours prior to donation.
📌 Indi mag tumar sang aspirin at least 3 ka adlaw before donating, kag munuhon sa on-site doctor and tanan nga mga bulong nga Gina tumar.
📌 Dapat wala gin ubo or trankasa or any other infections within the last 14 days.
📌 Dapat wala naga busong or breastfeeding.

OPT (Operation Timbang) Plus allows for the early identification of stunted, wasted, underweight, and overweight children, enabling immediate referral to health services for treatment.

The data collected serves as the basis for local nutrition action plans and helps determine priority areas for intervention, as outlined in this National Nutrition Council guide.

Digital tools like eOPT automatically calculate nutritional status (e.g., stunting, wasting, obesity) based on height, weight, and age. This minimizes human error and includes Data Quality Check (DQC) protocols to flag discrepancies immediately.

Last May 7, 2026, our Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) were able encode there OPT 2026 at the Municipality of Mina Community e-Center (CEC).

The activity was attended by the 22 BNS, Mrs. Ma. Fe Convocar, RN, DMO IV, and Mina Pcf Staff.
