🌟 What an amazing Playgroup Summer Camp! 🌟

Our little campers embraced every adventure with courage, curiosity, and big smiles! 💛 From Gymnastics, Jiu-Jitsu, Ballet, Horticulture, and Science Experiments to many more exciting hands-on activities, every day was filled with learning, movement, and fun.

Who knows? We may have just inspired the next great athlete, scientist, artist, or explorer!

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible expert coaches for sharing your passion and patiently guiding our little learners. Your dedication made each experience truly special.

And of course, to our wonderful parents—thank you for trusting us and for giving your children the opportunity to explore, discover, and grow. You are the real MVPs! ❤️

Meet Teacher Kish, a nationally renowned ballerina with years of teaching experience, and Coach Joshua from Team 90/Eight Jiu-Jitsu, an experienced purple-belt jiujiteiro.

OT Pat and OT Peter led an incredible webinar focused on shifting the perspective from "What is wrong with this child?" to "What has this child experienced?" Understanding the intersection of sensory processing and past trauma is vital.

Key takeaways from the session:

Safety First: Creating environments where a child feels physically and emotionally regulated before we even begin "work."

Co-Regulation: How our own calm as caregivers/therapists acts as a bridge for a child’s dysregulated nervous system.

Empowerment & Choice: Giving kids back a sense of agency—especially when their past or their diagnosis has made them feel powerless.

Sensory Awareness: Recognizing that "refusal" is often a survival response to sensory overload, not "bad behavior."

Learning how to better support these unique emotional needs is a game-changer for therapy and daily life.

Why this works:

The "Shift": Using the phrase "What has this child experienced" is the gold standard for describing trauma-informed work.

The Pillars: It highlights Safety, Choice, and Regulation, which are the actual clinical foundations of this type of care.

The "Why": It explains that behavior is a form of communication, which resonates deeply with parents and fellow professionals.
