ALLOW HIV SCREENING EVERYWHERE.

HIV is not just a health concern—it is a community concern.

The HIV & AIDS Surveillance of the Philippines reports that the highest number of new HIV cases in the Philippines is among individuals aged 15 to 34 years (DOH Epidemiology Bureau, June 2026). These are our students, young professionals, co-workers, friends and family members. This reality calls for a united and proactive response.

As of today, here in our clinic, the youngest client we have diagnosed with HIV is 15 years old. This is a sobering reminder that HIV is affecting our youth, making early prevention, education and access to services more urgent than ever.

WE CALL on schools, colleges, universities, workplaces, government offices, private companies and community organizations to open their doors to HIV screening services. By making HIV screening accessible where people learn, work and gather, we remove barriers, reduce stigma and empower individuals to know their status.

TRANSMISSION OF HIV MUST STOP—and it can only happen through early detection and treatment. When a person knows their HIV status early, they can immediately begin lifesaving antiretroviral treatment. With consistent treatment, the virus can become UNDETECTABLE, meaning it cannot be transmitted to others (U=U: UNDETECTABLE = UNTRANSMITTABLE). Treatment as Prevention (TasP) strategy is one of the most effective tools we have to end the HIV epidemic.

Ending HIV begins with one simple step: GETTING SCREENED / GETTING TESTED.

LET'S NORMALIZE HIV SCREENING / HIV TESTING. Let's replace fear with facts, stigma with compassion and silence with action.

Allow HIV screening in your school. Allow HIV screening in your workplace. Allow HIV screening in your community. Because knowing your status protects not only you, but everyone.

TOGETHER, we can STOP HIV transmission—one test, one person, one community at a time.

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the current shortage of antiretroviral medicines. No one should have to worry about access to life-saving treatment.

This is also a reminder that PREVENTION must remain our number one priority—especially for those with higher chances of HIV exposure. Every preventive step we take today can help protect our health tomorrow. Regular HIV testing, consistent condom use, access to PrEP and other proven PREVENTION STRATEGIES are not just options—they ARE ESSENTIAL.

Let's continue to support one another, promote accurate information and make prevention a shared responsibility. Prevention isn't just about avoiding HIV; it's about protecting lives and ensuring that fewer people ever have to face situations like this.
