As a pediatrician and also a mom, kis-a indi mo gid malikawan nga mag-worry, especially kung makita mo nga nagadamo naman ang mga bata nga naga-dengue.

Dengue prevention is not just about check-ups and treatment. Kinahanglan involved ang bug-os nga community. I hope we can work together with our community leaders, health workers, schools, and families para mas mapabakod ang aton prevention efforts.

Hopefully, next year mas ready na gid kita before pa mag-abot ang peak dengue season—may early preparation, consistent clean-up drives, kag active participation sang kada barangay kag pamilya.

Prevention should start early. 🤍

Dengue prevention is everyone’s responsibility. 🦟💪

NORALA, South Cotabato — Norala District Hospital has recorded 36 active dengue cases, prompting health authorities to intensify localized vector-control interventions during the rainy season.

Hospital data shows the patients comprise 22 males and 14 females, spanning from a newborn to a 62-year-old adult.

In response, hospital management has launched fogging operations in high-risk areas to suppress mosquito populations and halt transmission.

Dr. Mila G. Quinton, the hospital's chief, urged residents to eliminate stagnant water and follow the Department of Health’s "4S" strategy: search and destroy breeding sites, secure self-protection, seek early consultation, and support fogging in hotspots.

"Through community cooperation, early consultation, and sustained prevention efforts, we can protect our families and reduce the number of cases," Quinton said.

Local health officials confirmed that active disease surveillance, public information campaigns, and vector-control activities will remain in effect throughout the municipality as weather conditions present ideal breeding environments for dengue-carrying mosquitoes.

👶💪 TUMMY TIME NI BABY!

👶 Kailan sisimulan?
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), tummy time can start from the first day home from the hospital. Start with 3–5 minutes, 2–3 times a day, then gradually increase habang lumalakas at nasasanay si baby.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that infants who are not yet mobile get at least 30 minutes of tummy time throughout the day while awake.

⚠️ Tandaan:
Tummy to PLAY, Back to SLEEP.
Tummy time should only be done when baby is AWAKE and SUPERVISED.

Small tummy-time moments every day can make a BIG difference in your baby’s development. 💕👶

Parents, self-check muna tayo! ⏰📱

• Matutong makipag-usap at magkuwento

Less screen, more connection. 📵👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

🛁 5 simpleng hakbang sa pagpaligo kay baby! 👶💙

As a mom of a toddler, I always make sure my little one is safe at home. During my residency training, I’ve cared for children who accidentally swallowed household items, and one case that has stayed with me involved a button battery ingestion that caused severe esophageal injury and eventually required a gastrostomy tube (G-tube) for feeding.

Toddlers are naturally curious—they explore the world by putting almost everything into their mouths. As a pediatrician, and even more so as a mom, I understand how quickly these accidents can happen.

That’s why I want to share this simple reminder about the most common household ingestions and accidents encountered in toddlers. My hope is that this post helps raise awareness and prevents even one child from experiencing a life-changing injury.

A few moments of prevention can make a lifetime of difference. ❤️
