Last July 22, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Annex 1, Old Liga Room 2, the Peer Facilitator's Club successfully conducted its Welcome Session, "PANAGHIMAMAT, APIL NA!", welcoming CCO students from different programs who were eager to become part of a community that values empathy and growth.

The day was filled with excitement, laughter, learning, and genuine connection. It started as a room with new unfamiliar faces from different programs gradually became a circle of people willing to know one another, share pieces of themselves, and build meaningful relationships. Through interactive games, engaging icebreakers, group activities, and heartfelt conversations, we created more than just a welcome sessionโ€”we took the first step in building a safe space where every voice mattered, every story was respected, and everyone felt seen, heard, and accepted. We listened without judgment, encouraged one another, celebrated each person's uniqueness, and discovered that sometimes, all someone needs is a community that chooses to understand. As we begin this new journey together, may this be the foundation of lasting friendships, servant leadership, and a network of students committed to making a positive difference in the lives of others. ๐Ÿ’š ๐Ÿ˜‡

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event truly meaningful. Welcome to the Peer Facilitator's Clubโ€”where we continue to build a Circle of Comfort and a Network of Care. ๐Ÿ’š

More Than Words on a Wall...โ™ก

Every scribble, every confession, and every unsaid thought pinned to this wall is a beautiful reminder that beneath the rush of daily student life, we all carry a world of our own.

From the raw, hilarious honesty of being perpetually hungry, exhausted (kakapoy), or just desperately needing a good nap, to the hopeful sparks of looking for a love life and dreaming of a sweet college romance.

This wall holds the genuine, unfiltered pulse of who we are.

It is a canvas of our shared humanity, showing that no matter how different our paths seem, we are all navigating the same chaotic, beautiful journey together. Mixed in with the lighthearted notes are powerful echoes of resilience and deep gratitude.

We see your quiet cries and longing, standing right alongside fierce declarations of fighting and laban.

This space is also filled with immense thankfulness for the warm welcome they provided, and a gentle, hopeful reminder for everyone to treat our student leaders with kindness. Please know that the conversations don't have to end here on this wall, and you never have to carry your heavy thoughts or your biggest joys alone.

Our doors at the Guidance Office are always open, and your Peer Facilitators are always ready to listen, absolutely anytime you need a safe space. Whether you want to drop by and burst with excitement over a massive win, or you need a quiet place to lean on someone because you are feeling incredibly sad, overwhelmed, and down, we are here for you.

No emotion is too small, no feeling is too heavy, and you are always welcome just as you are.

Kumustahan Session with Sophomores!

Stepping into a new academic year comes with its own set of challenges, but the Peer Facilitators Club (PFC) - CCO recently hosted a heartwarming Kamustahan session on the 21st and 23rd of April to ensure our sophomore students feel completely supported as they navigate the mid-college hustle. Guided by the empathetic and empowering theme, "CCOnians, G Lang?", the event served as a beautiful reminder that whatever academic pressures throw your way, you can face them with courage, a resilient attitude, and a supportive campus community right behind you. The room was filled with shared stories and a collective reassurance that nobody has to face the challenges of their second year alone.

To help our sophomores confidently say "G lang!" to every hurdle, an incredible lineup of speakers took the stage to break down practical, everyday ways to keep mental well-being a priority using the 5 S Para Iwas Stress. PFC Ambassador Rhea Barrientos kicked things off by setting a comforting tone, reminding everyone that checking in on your peers and yourself is the first step to staying grounded when academic demands start to peak. Angela Bernales then dove deep into the core strategies of the 5 S, sharing actionable tips on how to pause, breathe, and pivot when the sophomore grind gets intense.

Wrapping up the session, PFC Adviser Marimel V. Senefrota provided invaluable guidance, putting emphasis that asking for help is a sign of strength and reassuring everyone that the PFC community is always a safe space to land.

Thank you to all the second-year CCOnians who opened their hearts and participated so actively. Remember to practice your 5 S because while we always say "G lang" to chasing our dreams, we must never forget to take care of our mental health along the way.

Ma'am Marimel Vergara Senefrota, RGC, CCO PFC Adviser, together with Ms. Iya Udtohan and Ms. Flolyn Matondo from City College of Ormoc had the privilege of attending the Peer Facilitator Training at Carlosta Hotel on March 11-13, organized by the City Health Department.

The first day was filled with anticipation as students and faculty from various schools gathered, eager to learn and connect with fellow participants. The air was filled with excitement, and it wasn't long before groups were formed, and meaningful conversations began.

As the training progressed into the second day, the students were immersed in role-play activities and reflection sessions that helped them grasp the details of handling different situations. The facilitators encouraged active participation, and the sharing of insights was amazing, with each group presenting their innovative ideas.

The final day centered on the important topic of "Self-Care," emphasizing that taking care of oneself is fundamental to nurturing healthy relationships. The event wrapped up in a heartwarming atmosphere of team spirit, with participants exchanging hugs, laughter, and warm smiles.

Attending this training was a truly enriching experience, empowering the students with essential skills to support their peers and emphasizing the importance of prioritizing self-care. It was an opportunity that widened their perspectives and created lasting bonds with fellow participants.

Checking in, catching up, starting again

Last January 14, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, the Peer Facilitators Club gathered once again for a meaningful afternoon of reconnection, reflection, and renewal. After months without activities, this event became a safe and intentional space to bring together current members who renewed their commitment during the last organizational fair, while also warmly welcoming new members who chose to begin their journey with the club.

Guided by the heartfelt welcoming remarks of Ms. Marimel V. Senefrota, the reconnection set the tone for openness, gratitude, and growth. Through thoughtfully designed activities led by our Club President, Ms. Rhea Jane Barrientos, members were invited to pause and look back at 2025โ€”drawing symbols that captured their year, expressing gratitude for what sustained them, and creatively naming their lives as if they were movies.

As the session moved forward, participants were encouraged to imagine what lies aheadโ€”giving their 2026 a new title, setting New Yearโ€™s resolutions, and reflecting on personal growth in the โ€œBetter Meโ€ activity, from who they once were to who they are becoming. Honest conversations about habits that hold us back and habits that help us grow reminded everyone that change begins with self-awareness and support from others.

The reconnection ended on a deeply personal note with โ€œDear Future Me,โ€ where members wrote letters to themselvesโ€”acknowledging what they survived, the lessons they learned, and the things they know they deserve. It was a powerful reminder that growth is not rushed, healing is not linear, and becoming better is a shared journey.

This reconnection was more than just an activityโ€”it was a fresh start, a renewed commitment, and a celebration of community. Hereโ€™s to moving forward together, grounded in reflection, strengthened by connection, and inspired to grow. ๐ŸŒฑโœจ

โœจ Stronger Together: PFC Shines at OrgSaulog 2025! โœจ

Despite the heavy downpour, nothing could dampen the spirit of the Peer Facilitators Club (PFC) as they proudly participated in OrgSaulog 2025, led by the Office of the Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) at the City College of Ormoc during October 15, 2025. The event brought together various accredited student organizations for membership renewal and new member admission, and PFC surely brought the fun!

To keep the energy high, the club prepared exciting and interactive games such as the crowd-favorite Color Game, the witty CCO Henyo, and the lively Bounce the Ball challenge. Laughter and cheers filled the air as students eagerly signed up to become part of the club, while returning members renewed their commitment to PFCโ€™s mission.

With a heart full of hope and passion, the Peer Facilitators Club looks forward to a fruitful academic year aheadโ€”one filled with meaningful activities, shared growth, and stronger connections.

๐Ÿ’š For we aim to be your circle of hope and network of care, through and through. ๐Ÿ’š

Mr. Jimenez highlighted the importance of self-care, reminding everyone that life is a continuous journey of self-discovery and that our choices shape our path. He noted, while we can't change the past, we can shape our future by staying in the present. He also stressed the importance of balance in life and encouraged attendees to stay open to new experiences and maintain social connections as we need people and support systems.

Everything's a choice, he says, and the only thing we can control is none other than our mindset.

Building on the emphasis, Mr. Cristobal Dexter V. Mendiola started his discussion with creativity, dividing the attendees into groups in which they tried to recognize the cognitive, physical, and behavioral aftermath of an emotion. He also added that we should always choose those who can help with our mental health and pray because no harm can ever be there in praying.
