Bullying is more than a disagreement or a one-time conflict. It involves repeated behavior intended to hurt, intimidate, or gain power over another person. Bullying can take many forms, including physical, verbal, social, and cyberbullying. Regardless of how it happens, its effects can extend far beyond the moment.
Research has shown that bullying can affect a person's self-esteem, emotional well-being, academic or work performance, and sense of safety. People who experience bullying may be at greater risk of developing anxiety, depression, loneliness, or chronic stress. Importantly, bullying also affects those who witness it, creating environments where fear and silence can replace trust and belonging.
