Kung hindi maiiwasan ang paglusong sa baha, may pwedeng inumin na gamot para maiwasan ang impeksyon ng leptispirosis.

DOH: MAG-INGAT SA LEPTOSPIROSIS, IWASAN ANG PAG LUSONG SA BAHA!

Dahil sa patuloy na pag-ulan at banta ng pagbaha dulot ng Bagyong Maymay at ng Habagat, paalala ng DOH sa publiko na mag-ingat sa Leptospirosis.

Ang Leptospirosis ay isang impeksyon mula sa bakteryang Leptospira na madalas nanggagaling sa ihi ng mga may sakit na hayop (lalo na ang daga) na humahalo sa tubig-baha o putik. Maaari itong pumasok sa katawan sa pamamagitan ng sugat o sa mata, ilong, at bibig.
