"EYE BAGS" (Dermatochalasia)
As we age, the skin around the eyes loses elasticity and the supporting tissues weaken.
What happens:
Redundant (extra) eyelid skin
A “hooded” or droopy appearance
Sometimes puffiness from fat protrusion
Why it matters:
It’s not just cosmetic.
In more advanced cases, dermatochalasia can:
Weigh down the eyelids
Cause eye fatigue or a heavy sensation
Partially block the upper field of vision
When the eyelids begin to age, the heaviness affects more than just appearance—it can impact day-to-day comfort and function.
In this patient, blepharoplasty was done to help lift that weight, allowing the eyes to look naturally rejuvenated while improving overall comfort and vision.
An added bonus? A fresher, more youthful look.
Subtle changes that help patients look—and feel—like a more refreshed version of themselves.
