knee flexion contracture release (gradual) using hinged Ilizarov technique

PS
this patient had on and off knee swelling, occasionally accompanied by subcutaneus abcess since he was 1 year old.

He's 12 now. So knee flexion contracture happened over time.

Intraop, surprisingly, we didnt find any abscess in the knee joint. What we got though, was 200ml of abscess on the leg.

Culture turned out to be multidrug resistant tuberculosis (TB) 🫠

SO...para po sa mga pilipinong nagaakalang eradicated na po ang TB sa bansa, you can not be more wrong (there are other presentations of TB than the pulmonary one).

BY THE WAY: LIBRE ang gamot para sa TB treatment. Punta lang kayo sa health centers na may katibayan na may TB kayo para maka avail :)
