We are pleased to welcome Dr. Jo, our External Disease and Cornea Specialist, to the Olivarez General Hospital Eye Center! 👁️✨

Dr. Jo earned both his Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular Medicine degrees from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of the Philippines Manila – Philippine General Hospital.

Further advancing his expertise in corneal care, Dr. Jo completed his fellowship training in Corneal Transplantation at Sydney Eye Hospital in Sydney, Australia.

As an External Disease and Cornea Specialist, Dr. Jo provides specialized evaluation and treatment for conditions affecting the cornea and ocular surface, including:

👁️ Dry eye disease
👁️ Keratoconus and other corneal ectasias
👁️ Corneal infections (keratitis)
👁️ Corneal scars and opacities
👁️ Corneal dystrophies and degenerations
👁️ Pterygium
👁️ Corneal injuries and ulcers
👁️ Conditions that may require corneal transplantation

These conditions fall within the scope of cornea and external disease care, while the appropriate treatment depends on each patient's individual diagnosis and evaluation.

A milestone for pediatric eye care at Olivarez General Hospital

On July 10, 2026, Dr. Aramis Torrefranca, our Pediatric Ophthalmologist, successfully performed OGH's first bilateral cataract surgery on a child with congenital cataracts on both eyes.

This landmark procedure reflects our continued commitment to providing specialized, high-quality eye care for children and expanding the advanced services available to our community.
